Why Are Plunge Pools Popular in Adelaide?

Adelaide’s warm summers and outdoor lifestyle make a backyard pool an inviting place to cool off and spend time outside. For homeowners who want the enjoyment of a swimming pool while retaining more room for entertaining, landscaping and everyday backyard use, a smaller design can be a practical choice.

Benefits of a Plunge Pool:

  • Ideal for smaller backyards: Smaller dimensions can work particularly well where outdoor space is limited or you want to retain more room around the pool.
  • Fast, easy installation: Fibreglass plunge pools can often be installed faster than traditional larger pools.
  • Low maintenance: Smooth, non-porous fibreglass surfaces can help make everyday pool cleaning and maintenance easier.
  • Efficient to heat: A smaller water volume can require less energy to heat, particularly when paired with an efficient pool heating system.
  • Customisable features: Selected designs can incorporate spa jets, built-in seating, LED lighting and other features to personalise your pool area.
  • Stylish and modern: Clean lines, compact shapes and a wide selection of pool colours make small fibreglass pools easy to incorporate into contemporary outdoor spaces.
  • Heating flexibility: A smaller pool can be paired with suitable heating equipment if you want greater control over the water temperature during Adelaide's cooler periods.

We chose the California Sparkle as our pool shell colour. I think it is quite new to the colour range and could not be happier. The reflections are beautiful and the appearance is very fresh/bright looking. The best thing about choosing a pool shell colour with The Fibreglass Pool Company is the chance to see a variety of colours in real life at the showroom. And to see the colours against a variety of tiles to make the best choice to suit your home. We love it.
Response from the owner:Hi Mel, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. California Sparkle is a beautiful choice, and we’re so happy to hear you love how fresh and bright it looks. It’s great to know the showroom helped you feel confident with your colour selection. We hope you enjoy your pool for many years to come. Kind Regards, TFPC Team

Considering a Plunge Pool in Adelaide?

What is a plunge pool?

A plunge pool is a smaller swimming pool commonly chosen for cooling off, relaxing and enjoying the water without requiring the size of a traditional family pool. Its reduced dimensions can be particularly useful when you want to keep more backyard space available for entertaining or landscaping.

There is no single measurement used to define every plunge pool. They are generally smaller than conventional swimming pools and designed to make good use of limited outdoor space. Our small and slimline fibreglass range includes several different dimensions for homeowners wanting a similar space-saving option.

The best model will depend on the dimensions and layout of your available area. The Imperial, Stradbroke, Heron and Hamilton Slimline are useful options to compare if you’re looking for smaller dimensions while still wanting practical swimming and relaxation space.

Every project is different, so the final price will depend on your chosen pool, property access, excavation, site conditions, installation requirements and any additional features. Having your property assessed allows your local team to prepare a quote based on the actual requirements of your backyard.

Yes. Many smaller fibreglass pools provide useful open water for casual swimming, cooling off and spending time with family. The amount of swimming room will vary according to the dimensions and internal layout of your chosen pool.

Yes. Many small fibreglass pools can be paired with suitable heating equipment if required. Your local team can help you compare heating options based on your chosen pool design, equipment and how you intend to use the water.

Installation timeframes vary depending on site access, excavation requirements, approvals, weather and the overall project. Because fibreglass pool shells are manufactured before arriving onsite, the installation process can often be more streamlined than traditional concrete pool construction.

Pool approval, engineering and safety requirements depend on your property and individual project. Your local pool team can help coordinate the necessary approvals and compliance requirements before installation begins.
